FAST FIX

Fix Lip Sync in Your Stream

If stream audio is ahead of or behind video, start with a repeatable flash/blip or clapper reference, measure the returned or recorded output, and delay the source that arrives early.

Open AV Sync Reference Loop

Use it as a subjective reference through the real path, then measure and verify the output before production.

Important: A static offset only fixes a stable timing difference. If sync changes during the stream, investigate clocking, sample-rate, capture, and source stability.

Quick Steps

  1. Record the real returned/program output with a clear A/V reference.
  2. Measure whether audio or video arrives early and by how many milliseconds.
  3. Delay the early source, then repeat the recording to verify.

Use It Fast

  • Useful for capture cards, webcam + USB mic mismatch, and live program feeds.
  • Use the buffer calculator only when a documented sample/buffer stage needs conversion to milliseconds.
