FAST FIX

Fix Audio Sync in vMix

If vMix audio is ahead of or behind video, record a clear reference through the real output, measure which source is early, and apply a test delay to that source.

Open AV Sync Reference Loop

Use the returned or recorded program output for measurement, then verify after the change.

Important: A fixed delay can correct a stable offset, but it cannot correct drift. Do not infer the final vMix value from generic buffer or device assumptions.

Quick Steps

  1. Record a flash/blip or clapper through the real vMix output path.
  2. Measure which source arrives early and by how many milliseconds.
  3. Delay the early source, then record again to verify the program output.

Use It Fast

  • Useful for capture cards, camera chains, remote feeds, and mixed audio paths.
  • Good for live production troubleshooting when lip sync is visibly off.
  • Use related planning tools if encoder or stream settings may also be contributing.
