What this means: This is the sum of the buffer stages and Dante receive latency you entered. It is not a measured A/V offset and should not be pasted into OBS or vMix as a final correction. Measure the real output path first, apply delay to the early source, and verify a recording or returned output.

Dante Receive Latency

Choose the receive-latency value configured on the actual Dante receiver. Hop count helps select that device setting; it is not added again as a separate fixed delay.

Clock Performance

Running high sample rates (96kHz) halves your per-sample latency but doubles network bandwidth requirements. Test for PTP clock stability.

OBS Mic Delay (Lip Sync)

If video arrives later than audio, use a measured chain offset—not buffer math alone—to choose an OBS Sync Offset, then verify the recorded or returned output.

Common Values & Related Problems

At 48 kHz, 128 samples is 2.67 ms, 256 samples is 5.33 ms, and 512 samples is 10.67 ms. For end-to-end sync, start with a real reference and measure the output.

Known Audio-Path Latency

Digital audio can add latency at conversion, DSP, buffering, and network receive stages. This calculator adds only the buffer and receive-latency values you enter; it does not discover unmeasured stages.

Dante Receive Latency

Dante receive latency is configured at the receiver. Use the current device value from Dante Controller and current Audinate guidance instead of estimating a second per-switch delay.

A/V Delay & OBS Lip Sync

When video arrives later than audio, a measured difference can be used to choose an initial audio-delay test. This tool converts known buffer/sample values; it does not measure the whole chain or establish the final OBS Sync Offset by itself.
