Two practical guides to browser-based live graphics
QLG now has two focused companion guides. Free HTML Graphics for OBS and vMix explains the wider Build → Control → Output workflow, transparency and pre-show checks. How to Add Browser Source Graphics to OBS covers the actual source setup, EMPTY/TAKE/CLEAR verification and reload recovery.
The guides describe standard browser-source workflows and link to the existing free QLG tool. They do not change QLG's runtime, limits or output architecture.

Universal PTZ Controller enters Hardware Beta
The new Universal PTZ Controller is available under Beta for local-network hardware testing with Panasonic AW-UE160, Panasonic AW-UE100 and Sony ILME-FR7 cameras. It combines multi-camera PTZ, zoom, focus and supported exposure controls with presets and explicitly armed keyboard operation.
The browser sends commands directly to cameras that the operator configures on the LAN; there is no camera-control cloud relay. This is an experimental Beta, real hardware testing is in progress, and compatibility is not yet guaranteed.

Camera Shading is ready for real-camera testing
Camera Shading adds a professional RCP/shading-style workspace for Panasonic AW-UE160, Panasonic AW-UE100 and Sony ILME-FR7 cameras. Its live-state architecture keeps REQUESTED operator values separate from values actually REPORTED by a camera, with multi-camera operation, capability-aware Copy Settings and local shading scenes.
The browser communicates directly with explicitly configured cameras on the local network. This remains a Hardware Beta: real-camera verification is still in progress, and the available parameters differ by model.

Emergency Graphics grows into QLG
QLG — Quick Live Graphics expands the original browser-source fallback into a reusable Free graphics workspace. Build lower thirds, status graphics, countdowns, scoreboards, images and maps, save them to a compact control surface, and send the transparent output to OBS or vMix.
Each new or imported production receives its own private live channel. Project files stay portable and never contain the channel write key.

The Unreal broadcast plugin gets a proper project page
I’ve published a concise page for the Mac-first Unreal Engine broadcast and AR plugin I’m building. Its main Build AR Pipeline function creates or updates the working Composure structure around the chosen camera, still or NDI background, foreground actors, shadow passes and final output.
The core workflow has already been used during a real live sports broadcast. The page also keeps experimental reflection work and future camera/platform ideas clearly separate from what exists now.

A clearer A/V sync test and a focused studio clock
The new A/V Sync Test & Offset Worksheet combines a flash/blip signal with frame-to-millisecond conversion and a clear correction direction. The measurement still comes from the real recorded or returned output—not from a browser pretending to calibrate the chain automatically.
The stable time-of-day and countdown parts of Studio Production Clock have also moved into the main tools collection. The unfinished integrations and local remote experiment remain in Beta.

The tools have moved to their own home
The technical tools and guides that used to live on JEM Productions now point here to Broadcast.Tools, where they can keep growing as one focused collection.
JEM Productions remains the home for production, engineering and consulting work. Broadcast.Tools is the place for calculators, practical references and the small utilities I build for real production workflows.
Current note: JEM Productions is now Johan's personal profile site. Broadcast.Tools remains the separate home for tools and technical guides.

broadcast.tools is live
After a lot of building, testing and rebuilding, broadcast.tools is now live.
The site brings the tools, guides and resources I have been working on together in one place—from timecode, NDI and fiber planning to XR, streaming and live-production utilities.
A lot also changed under the hood before launch. The calculators were reviewed and tested, the mobile experience was cleaned up, and Emergency Graphics was rebuilt so a normal browser can control graphics running directly inside OBS.
There is still plenty I want to build, but this is the point where Broadcast.Tools stops being a project on my laptop and becomes a real site.

A final round of polish
Before putting the site online, I spent some time using it the way I would actually use it during a production.
That resulted in quite a few small but useful changes: tools are quicker to get into, mobile navigation is cleaner, the Tools page now has search, and several calculators have clearer assumptions and results.
The IP video tool has also been sharpened into an ST 2110 capacity worksheet, while NDI keeps its own dedicated planner.
Emergency Graphics is now easier to find, and the SuperSource Builder has clearer boundaries around what should still be checked against the actual ATEM model and software version.
In short: fewer claims, less scrolling and more useful buttons.
APRIL 13, 2026
Emergency Graphics arrives
Added a browser-based control and output pair for lower thirds, status labels and timers. The first version established the graphic workflow; realtime browser-source control was completed and verified later.
APRIL 12, 2026
Reference aids, beta builds and software notes
Added the AV Sync Reference Loop as a simple flash-and-beep reference—not a calibration instrument. Studio Production Clock and Companion Quick Builder moved into Beta Builds.
Cool Tools also expanded with practical starting points for CasparCG, Node-RED, Wireshark, TouchDesigner and Streamer.bot.
APRIL 11, 2026
The A/V Sync Calibrator was removed
The calibrator could not produce a result trustworthy enough for production work, so it was removed. The OBS Audio Sync Explained guide now focuses on measured, workflow-based troubleshooting instead.
APRIL 9, 2026
Companion Quick Builder enters beta
Added an experimental way to sketch layouts around supported Companion modules and actions. It remains a planning aid until imports are verified against current Companion releases.
APRIL 5, 2026
Broadcast.Tools takes shape
The tools and guides adopted the Broadcast.Tools identity, separating the resource site from JEM Productions.
Calculator assumptions, units and guide wording were reviewed. Estimates are now labelled more clearly, and unsupported presets or claims were removed.
APRIL 5, 2026
Better audio references and sync explanations
Audio Test gained visualisers, routing controls and a listening-oriented sweep. Genlock vs Timecode was expanded while keeping the important distinction between frame synchronization and time labels.
APRIL 4, 2026
Contact and navigation improvements
Added the current Contact form and reorganized the homepage and navigation so tools and guides are easier to reach.
MARCH 28, 2026
Streaming planning and SuperSource layouts
Expanded OBS/vMix streaming-planning controls and added a visual way to draft SuperSource layouts. Generated XML remains a starting point that should be checked on the target ATEM setup.
MARCH 21, 2026
More practical calculators
Added video bitrate and latency conversion tools. Their assumptions and language were refined in later reviews as the collection matured.
