Fix OBS Audio Sync Fast

If your OBS mic is early or late against video, record a clear reference, measure the real output difference, and apply a test offset to the early source. A changing offset is a drift problem and will not be fixed by one static delay value.

Open AV Sync Reference Loop

Film or record the returned/program output, measure the difference, then verify the result with a second recording.

Important: OBS Sync Offset affects encoded/recorded output and may not be represented by local monitoring. Apply delay to the source that arrives early; do not derive the final offset from buffer settings alone.

Quick Steps

  1. Record a flash/blip or clapper reference through the real program path.
  2. Measure whether audio or video arrives early and by how many milliseconds.
  3. Delay the early source in OBS, then make a second recording to verify.

  • Use Advanced Audio Properties when audio is early; use a video Render Delay filter when video is early and the source supports that workflow.
  • If the error changes over time, investigate clocks, sample rates, capture, or source stability instead of increasing a fixed offset.
