VIRTUAL PRODUCTION

XR Latency Worksheet

Add measured or manufacturer-supplied stage delays to estimate total latency and its frame equivalent. This worksheet does not measure or calibrate the real chain.

Latency Planning in Virtual Production

The worksheet adds the values you provide for tracking, rendering, and camera/output/display stages. It does not observe the chain and cannot confirm synchronization.

Frames as a Common Unit

Converting milliseconds to frames can make contributions easier to compare. Use measurements from the exact Unreal, nDisplay, tracking, camera, and output configuration.

Timing Still Requires Measurement

Genlock phase, camera shutter timing, LED scan behaviour, processor delay, and tracking compensation are separate problems. A sum of latency values does not produce a physical calibration target.
