BETA BUILD

Companion Quick Builder

Build one or more real Companion control pages from supported systems, start with usable function blocks, review what is truly ready, and export a clean .companionconfig file for your existing setup.

Beta status: this tool is usable for testing and iteration, but it is still evolving and is not positioned as one of the site's trusted core calculators, planners, or lookup tools.
What this exports and what still needs real Companion setup
This tool helps you assemble real module-backed control pages faster. It exports a Companion import file using stable connection ids like obs and vmix, but it does not replace real Companion connection setup or operator judgement.

Desktop Recommended

The Companion Quick Builder works best on a larger screen because you are arranging button pages and reviewing export-ready layouts.

Open it on a computer or a large tablet for the clearest workflow.

1. What Are You Controlling?

Choose the real system first.

2. Choose Function Blocks

Add a useful block. Ready works now. Needs setup still needs live values.

System details
Use Ready blocks when you want the quickest success. Use Needs setup blocks when you are prepared to finish live values in Companion.
Advanced
Individual Buttons (Advanced)

Only use this when you need something more specific than the function blocks above.

Layout Only
Layout Templates (No actions)

These are visual scaffolds only. They help with page shape, but they do not create working Companion controls on their own.

Use only when page structure matters more than functionality. Real control should come from the system and function blocks above.

3. Review And Export

Choose a system, add a function block, then export when the page is useful.

๐Ÿ“ฅ How to Import into Companion

Follow these 3 steps after downloading your layout file.

1
Open Companion & go to Settings โ†’ Export/Import
In the Companion web interface, click the top-right gear icon โ†’ Import / Export.
2
Import your .companionconfig file
Click Import, select the downloaded .companionconfig file. Choose to import into a specific page or replace the full config.
3
Configure your Connections
Go to Connections and make sure your existing module connections use the same stable ids the export expects, for example obs or vmix.
๐Ÿ’ก Tip: Supported module buttons already export real actions. The safest flow is to import the layout and map the stable connection ids to your existing Companion setup.
